Cat & Dog Surgeries in Carmel, IN

At our Carmel animal hospital, Dr. Clayton uses a CO2 laser to perform all of our soft tissue cat and dog surgeries. Our CO2 surgical laser enables Dr. Clayton to make incisions without a traditional scalpel. The biggest benefits of this method include increased postoperative comfort and greatly decreased bleeding during veterinary surgery. Patients wake up with wounds that have the nerve endings cauterized, and so feel less pain and are more comfortable. Call us at (317) 218-3142 to schedule a consultation!

Not Your Average Surgery: Watch Us as We Work

Beyond the laser veterinary surgery capabilities, another element that sets Clayton Family Veterinary Care apart is our interactive surgical procedures. Client education is a really big deal to us—so much so that we built it into our practice design. Instead of performing surgeries behind closed doors, we bring it to the fore.

Our veterinarian performs surgeries in a room with a large pane of glass facing out into the lobby. Additionally, Dr. Clayton will walk you through the entire procedure through an intercom system. This level of transparency with the client is something we believe allows for a deeper understanding of your pet, and subsequently, a deeper bond.

All the Modern Transparency; No Compromise on Traditional Safety

Every surgery is still performed to the highest standards—not one bit of exceptional care is compromised. We never let our passion for client education interfere with your pet’s safety. Their health and wellbeing are our number one focus. Pet surgery typically requires general anesthesia, so just as with our teeth cleaning procedures, we perform a pre-anesthetic exam and recommend blood work, too.

During the procedure your pet is monitored throughout and given an IV catheter for fluid therapy. A dedicated member of our team will be in charge of monitoring their blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen level, respiratory rate and body temperature to ensure their utmost safety and comfort.
